About m.2 ssd
m.2 ssd is a type of new ssd drives that are very fast compare to the traditional 2.5 inch solid state drives. These drives have high writing and reading speeds. There are two types of these drives. One is called nvme and the other is m.2 ssd. Both have different types of connectors. The prices are competitively higher than the regular ssd. These drives have nand chips and controller connected to each other on the logic board. These drives are mostly affected by electronic problems when some components fail on the logic board.
These drives can fail too. Data recovery from these drives is possible. The controller can go bad or nand chips can die. We recover these drives on regular basis. There are two families of these drives. Windows laptops and tablets use m.2 ssd and nvme of one type while Apple laptops use their own type of m.2 solid state drives. They are not cross compatible which means a drive from Apple computer will not fit in Windows laptop and vice versa. Physically these drives look like a desktop RAM module. They take less space compare to a regular 2.5” ssd. If you need help with data recovery from these new types of solid state drives, we can help. We have the technology and experience to deal with this new ssd generation.
